Toners have become increasingly less common in the skincare regimen, and for many people are a matter of personal preference. The truth is these products can still play an important role in your skincare routine. Toners are designed to balance your pH levels disrupted by harsh cleansers and clarify your skin of dirt, makeup and oil that may remain after cleansing. Read on to find out why you shouldn’t skip your toner.
How to properly use toners
After cleansing your face, spritz your toner onto a non-linting facial wipe or spray directly on face/body. Let product absorb after spraying, or wipe off excess using a non-linting facial wipe (our favorite is Nova 2×2 which are complimentary with all toner purchases in our spa). Sweep upward: Avoid pulling the skin down when applying any skincare products to prevent sagging or wrinkles. Start at the chin and sweep non-linting facial wipe upward toward the forehead.
Toners are perfect for on-the-go cleansing
Most of our clients that play sports, work out, or go to hot yoga complain of acne breakouts on the face and body. Toners are the perfect on-the-go option to quickly cleanse the trouble areas until you have time to get home and shower. We suggest you keep toner and non-linting wipes in your sports bag so you’re always prepared to stop a breakout.
